Burma’s largest opposition party to boycott 2010 election

The National League for Democracy (NLD) has announced that they will not register for Burma’s elections to be held in 2010. The declaration follows a series of recent changes to political party registration laws by the country’s military junta, in which they warned the NLD to expel its leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, or lose their eligibility to register, changes she has labelled “unjust and unfair.”
