In light of everything that is going on between the United States and Faisal Shahzad—the accused man who was charged with trying to blow up Times Square with a mishmash of wires and fertilizer—it should come as no surprise why the Obama administration is lobbying Congress to name the Pakistani Taliban (the Tehrik i-Taliban Pakistan is its formal name) as an official “foreign terrorist organization.”
