Chen Lu received a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Georgetown University in 2017. Her academic background is in international trade policy and Chinese foreign policy. Chen is currently a manager at SOSV, a venture capital and investment management firm. Prior to that, Chen worked for an international trade company, where she had a focus on the analysis of Chinese economic policy. She also worked for American Committees on Foreign Relations in 2016, where she conducted research on Chinese policies toward Japan and ASEAN countries. Through her work and education, Chen has developed strong skills in policy analysis.
Both China and Japan are likely to enhance their physical presence in the East China Sea as each attempts to assert effective control over disputed waters.
