Candace Owens has escalated her public battle with Turning Point USA, rejecting a comparison drawn by TPUSA chief operating officer Tyler Bowyer between Erika Kirk and murder defendant Lindsay Clancy.
Bowyer posted on X contrasting public treatment of Erika Kirk with financial support raised for Clancy, whose trial centers on the deaths of her three children.
His post read: “strangle your three kids while evading your mental illness: ONE MILLION DOLLARS.”
Bowyer then wrote: “lose your husband and father of your children but carry an organization with millions of followers on your back that recruits and registers young Patriots: A LIFETIME OF HARASSMENT.”
Owens reposted Bowyer’s comments but pushed back hard, rejecting the framing and pointing directly to TPUSA’s own commercial activity following Charlie Kirk’s death.
She wrote: “You guys sold 50,000 t-shirts at the ‘event of the century’ as Erika walked out to sparklers.”
Owens continued: “You raised 40 million in one night at Mar-A-Lago as Erika was photographed over his bloody mic.”
She added: “It’s possible to disagree with fundraisers for Lindsay Clancy and also think TPUSA should sit this one out entirely.”
The remarks represent the latest chapter in Owens’ sustained public campaign questioning TPUSA’s conduct following the death of Charlie Kirk, 31, who was fatally shot on September 10, 2025.
Kirk was killed during a student question-and-answer event at Utah Valley University in Orem, and Tyler Robinson has been accused in the killing.
Owens has previously criticized Erika Kirk’s interactions with journalist Brandy Zadrozny, challenged the privacy surrounding Charlie Kirk’s burial location, and raised broader questions about events following his death.
The Clancy case has added a new flashpoint to the dispute, with Clancy facing three murder charges in Massachusetts over the deaths of her children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months.
Clancy has pleaded not guilty, and her defense has raised questions about mental illness and criminal responsibility that have drawn wide public debate.
If convicted, Clancy could face life in prison without parole, while a finding of not guilty due to lack of criminal responsibility could result in commitment to a state mental health facility.
Bowyer’s original post sought to highlight what he described as a stark difference in public sympathy, but Owens’ response has shifted attention back toward TPUSA’s own post-Kirk conduct.
With both sides continuing to speak publicly, the controversy surrounding Charlie Kirk’s legacy shows no sign of cooling among Kirk supporters and Owens’ audience.
