AutoCanada Inc. (TSX: ACQ), a leading Canadian multi-location automobile dealership and collision repair group, has completed its acquisition of Contemporary Coachworks, a two-location collision repair business based in Calgary, Alberta.

Contemporary Coachworks brings more than 40 years of operating history to the deal, with a strong reputation built around OEM-certified luxury vehicle repairs in the Calgary market.

The acquisition establishes AutoCanada’s first luxury collision repair presence in Calgary, adding two strategically located facilities and approximately 30,000 square feet of collision repair capacity to its network.

Contemporary Coachworks holds certifications across 15 OEM brands, including Tesla, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Volvo, Acura, and Volkswagen, significantly deepening AutoCanada’s certified repair credentials.

Samuel Cochrane, Chief Executive Officer and Interim Chief Financial Officer of AutoCanada, said the business had earned a standout reputation in the market.

“Contemporary Coachworks is an excellent addition to our growing collision platform,” said Cochrane, adding that “the business has built a strong reputation for quality repairs, customer service and OEM-certified expertise.”

Cochrane added that the deal “expands our presence in Calgary, strengthens our luxury collision capabilities, and creates opportunities to enhance our collision operations through shared best practices and our OEM and insurance relationships.”

The two facilities serve both north and south Calgary, giving AutoCanada broader geographic coverage across one of Canada’s largest automotive markets.

AutoCanada also expects the acquisition to strengthen its ability to retain collision repair volume within its network during periods of elevated demand, including severe weather and catastrophe-related hail events.

The deal is expected to generate operational synergies through shared best practices, enhanced OEM and insurance partner relationships, and improved capacity management across AutoCanada’s Calgary network.

AutoCanada’s Collision Centre Operations segment now operates 35 collision centres, supported by 26 OEM certifications covering 37 vehicle brands, following the completion of this transaction.

The company’s broader dealership operations span 64 franchised dealerships across 8 Canadian provinces, comprising 23 automotive brands, with its Canadian dealerships selling approximately 71,000 new and used retail vehicles in 2025.

AutoCanada’s U.S. franchise dealerships, operating as Leader Automotive Group, currently run 10 franchised dealerships across Illinois, though the U.S. portfolio has been classified as discontinued operations as the company progresses its sale.
