Semarchy, recognized as a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Master Data Management, has launched the Semarchy Data Products workload for Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Fabric.
The announcement was made at the European Microsoft Fabric and SQL Community Conference in Barcelona, Spain, on September 30, 2026.
The new workload publishes certified master data into Microsoft OneLake, embedded with semantic intelligence, business context, and entity relationships at scale.
It enables Microsoft Fabric services including Power BI, Fabric data agents, business analysts, data scientists, and end users to consume trusted, governed data directly.
The Semarchy Data Products workload will be made available through the Microsoft Fabric Workload Hub at no additional charge to licensed Semarchy Data Platform customers.
Semarchy Data Platform for Microsoft Fabric is also set to become available on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace in October 2026.
The core problem the workload addresses is that Fabric users currently must manually create and maintain semantic models, a process that becomes unmanageable at scale across hundreds of entities and thousands of attributes.
Without business meaning attached to data landing in Fabric, analysts struggle to decode cryptic column names, Copilot produces incorrect answers to business questions, and Fabric data agents generate results that users cannot trust.
Craig Gravina, Chief Technology Officer at Semarchy, explained the significance of the integration for AI-driven workflows inside Fabric environments.
“For AI to be successful, context alone is no longer sufficient,” said Gravina. “Agents require meaning, instruction, and proof.”
“Our customers have already built a governed business context inside Semarchy,” Gravina continued. “This brings that investment into Fabric automatically, and keeps it current as their data products evolve.”
The workload builds and continuously enriches a Fabric semantic model drawn from the data product’s governed business context, ensuring every entity and attribute carries a readable label, clear description, and defined relationships.
Lineage and discoverability are also published to Microsoft Purview, allowing governance teams to trace every data product back to its original source.
The Semarchy Fabric Workload joins the Semarchy Fabric CLI, which has been generally available since March 2026, offering engineering teams an automated path while platform owners and administrators use the guided portal experience.
Both tools deliver the same governed output, with Semarchy remaining the system of authority, certification, quality, and access control, while Fabric serves as the consumption channel.
Semarchy’s design tooling runs inside Microsoft VS Code, versions through GitHub, deploys on Azure, and governs with Purview, meaning data engineers can design products using GitHub Copilot grounded in their own enterprise standards.
