Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR) chairman Michael Saylor is making a bold call on Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC), declaring that a new bull market for the world’s largest cryptocurrency is only just getting started.
Speaking in a media interview, Saylor said Bitcoin’s price will again surpass the $100,000 mark, expressing confidence that the digital asset is on a sustained upward path.
Saylor’s long-term outlook is particularly striking, with the executive stating that his “long-term forecast is Bitcoin grows 20% to 30% a year over the next 20 years.”
He attributed the sluggish price action of the past year to a combination of restrictive trade, foreign, currency, and monetary policies that weighed on Bitcoin and the broader crypto market.
Bitcoin has since found its footing, supported by what Saylor describes as meaningful tailwinds, including a more favorable regulatory environment, accelerating bank adoption, and a growing market for digital assets.
The bullish comments follow a prolonged crypto winter that gripped markets from October 2025 through the end of June this year, pressuring valuations across the digital asset space.
BTC staged a strong recovery in the third quarter, rallying 42% and outperforming every other major asset class, climbing from below $65,000 to above $85,000.
Saylor pinpointed the cycle’s low with precision, saying: “I think we hit the bottom around slightly below $60,000. I think we bounced off it. Now we’re moving up into the eighties. I think we’ll continue to march forward from here.”
Bitcoin’s current price of $82,750 remains well below its all-time high of just over $126,000, reached in October 2025, leaving significant room for recovery if Saylor’s thesis proves correct.
Strategy remains the world’s largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, currently sitting on 848,250 BTC, representing 4% of the cryptocurrency’s entire circulating supply and valued at approximately $76 billion.
Despite its massive Bitcoin treasury, Strategy’s most recent purchase was notably modest, with the company acquiring just 250 BTC last week, its smallest single purchase of the year.
MSTR shares have not kept pace with the optimism surrounding Bitcoin, declining 49% over the past 12 months to trade at $152.18 per share.
