Rolls-Royce (LON: RR) shares climbed 1.41% to trade at GBX1,492, with the stock closing above its key moving averages and signaling persistent intraday buying strength.

The company has committed £300 million to upgrade its manufacturing and engineering facilities across the United Kingdom, targeting improvements in its Civil Aerospace and Defence operations.

The investment is structured to directly increase capital expenditure, expanding production capacity and strengthening Rolls-Royce’s ability to capture growth opportunities across its core business segments.

Management’s clear allocation of resources to domestic facilities has supported positive investor sentiment and underpinned the stock’s intraday momentum during the session.

On the hourly chart, price is holding above the MA-20 at GBX1,475 and the MA-50 at GBX1,482, while also trading comfortably clear of the daily MA-200 at GBX1,322.

The Ichimoku Kijun sits at GBX1,473, providing immediate technical support, while MACD and ADX readings remain neutral and the RSI stands at 60.36, reflecting a mild upward bias.

Stochastic RSI, CCI, and Bull/Bear Power indicators all point to overbought conditions, signaling strong short-term buyer presence but raising the possibility of near-term exhaustion.

Analysts at Traders Union expect price to consolidate between GBX1,469 and GBX1,515 over the coming sessions, with the probability of a breakout above the upper boundary described as very high.

Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, views the targeted investment as a direct signal of management confidence, noting that the stock’s persistence above key technical levels aligns with fundamentally driven optimism.

“Rolls-Royce’s commitment to UK expansion underpins growth expectations, and I remain constructive on the stock as long as price holds above GBX1,469,” Karapetjanc stated.

The analyst added that solid fundamentals and renewed capital allocation favor further upside, though near-term technical exhaustion signals warrant close monitoring by traders.

Previously, analysts flagged that Rolls-Royce shares were confined within a range amid ongoing volatility and external macroeconomic pressures, a backdrop that makes the current consolidation above support levels particularly significant.

GBX1,515 now stands as the primary resistance level to watch, with a sustained break above that threshold needed to confirm a broader bullish continuation for the stock.
