SoundHound AI (NASDAQ: SOUN) climbed 5% to $6.11 on Wednesday after the company announced a generative voice AI launch inside the Kia Sorento for the Indian automotive market.

The deployment marks a category first for the Indian market and a global debut of the feature within the Sorento lineup, representing a notable milestone for SoundHound AI’s international expansion.

Drivers and passengers can activate the system using the “Hey Kia” command, enabling continuous, multi-turn conversations capable of handling complex requests without rigid pre-programmed phrasing.

Natural-language capabilities include control of climate, lighting, windows, and driving modes, alongside instant access to the digital owner’s manual and dynamic conversational search for navigation and points of interest.

The launch builds on SoundHound AI’s growing presence in high-growth Asian automotive markets and its broader OASYS platform strategy for agentic voice AI deployment across vehicles and enterprise devices.

SoundHound AI has also advanced its OASYS Edge architecture, which enables fully embedded agentic voice AI on edge hardware, allowing deployment across cloud, edge, or hybrid environments, with a targeted rollout for late 2026.

The company’s second-quarter revenue of $61.9 million and rising analyst estimate support have reinforced the positive narrative, though ongoing acquisition integration work and competitive dynamics in conversational AI remain factors for investors.

BigBear.ai Holdings (NYSE: BBAI) rose 3% to $2.73 on the same session, with shares responding to broader investor interest in applied AI platforms focused on decision intelligence for government, defense, and commercial customers.

Pony AI (NASDAQ: PONY), which develops autonomous driving technology and robotaxi services primarily targeting markets in China, stayed essentially flat, edging up just 0.15% to $6.55 on the day.

Broader markets advanced modestly during the session, with the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE ARCA: SPY) gaining 0.47% to close at $767.77, reflecting selective strength across AI-focused names.

While SoundHound AI, BigBear.ai, and Pony AI all carry exposure to artificial intelligence applications, they operate in distinct niches spanning voice interfaces, decision systems, and autonomous mobility respectively.

Further automotive contract wins, enterprise traction, and successful platform rollouts remain the key variables that could support or pressure SoundHound AI’s stock in the months ahead.
