Denim Deal, an international multi-stakeholder initiative, has announced a new partnership with United Repair Centre (URC), a social impact company specializing in high-quality apparel repair services.

URC currently provides repair services to major brands including Patagonia, The North Face, Arc’teryx, Lululemon, Levi’s and Decathlon, giving it significant reach across the global apparel industry.

The partnership grants Denim Deal members direct access to URC’s Europe-wide repair expertise and services, along with a dedicated member discount exclusive to the initiative’s participants.

Denim Deal operates as a global platform that unites the denim value chain to scale post-consumer recycled cotton and build circular denim operations across its regional hubs.

Those hubs span EMEA, North America, Latin America, Sub-India and APAC, with the initiative working to empower local ecosystems to close the loop in denim production and consumption.

The initiative’s headline target is the production of one billion pairs of jeans containing at least 20 percent post-consumer recycled cotton by 2030, alongside broader goals around transparency and durability.

Laura Vicaria, Denim Deal’s program director, said the partnership reinforces the connection between material innovation and garment longevity across the full product lifecycle.

“Post-consumer recycled cotton becomes more credible when brands can see it, feel it and understand how to use it,” Vicaria said. “Durability connects the full product journey, from material choice and design to repair and future recycling.”

The economic case for repair is also significant, with a study by Circular Fashion Federation finding the KPMG value of the “reinvent” segment for “European first-hand apparel” is expected to reach 71 billion euros ($80.9 billion) by 2030.

Thami Schweichler, founder of URC, emphasized that quality execution is central to making repair a credible part of brand circularity strategies at scale.

“None of this would work without the highest-quality repairs, every time, exceptional service, and industry-leading technology,” Schweichler said, adding that investment in repair drives positive social change.

Since launching in Amsterdam in 2022, URC has handled over 100,000 repairs for more than 35 brands, and as a B Corp, the company reports that its partnerships continue to grow.

URC employs over 50 repair technicians across its hubs in Amsterdam, London and Paris, with many employees having previously worked as refugees and tailors in their home countries.

Denim Deal announced the collaboration at Denim Deal Days Paris, a one-day product-led working event co-organized with URC and the Circular Fashion Federation and hosted at URC’s central Paris hub.

The event connected participating brands directly with Denim Deal members DNM, Indigo Textile, Kipas Denim, Soorty, Demco, Artlab, Thirty2, World Collective and PLNTmatter, and included an eco-design session alongside a hands-on Sashiko denim repair workshop.
