Causaly has announced an expansion of its collaboration with Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) that integrates agentic scientific research capabilities directly into Microsoft Copilot for enterprise life sciences teams.
Enterprise scientists and knowledge workers can now access Causaly’s scientifically grounded research from within Microsoft 365 workflows, including the Copilot app and Microsoft Teams.
The integration allows Causaly to act as a specialized enterprise agent, orchestrating end-to-end scientific research that surfaces prior science and reasons over biological mechanisms.
Users can invoke Causaly from the agent menu or by @mentioning Causaly in a Copilot conversation, enabling complex biomedical questions to be answered within a familiar interface.
Every answer produced by Causaly carries traceable references back to peer-reviewed literature, biomedical databases, and its proprietary knowledge graphs, Bio Graph and Pipeline Graph.
The announcement builds on a collaboration first unveiled at Microsoft Build 2026 in June, which brought Causaly’s scientific interpretation together with Microsoft Discovery’s enterprise scientific platform.
Yiannis Kiachopoulos, co-founder and CEO of Causaly, said: “This puts governed, provenance-first scientific reasoning inside the same interface used across research, development, medical, and commercial functions in biopharma.”
Kiachopoulos added: “In June we announced the deployment of Causaly’s Agentic Research on Microsoft Discovery. Today we are extending that collaboration to Microsoft Copilot, the productivity surface where enterprise knowledge workers already do their day-to-day work.”
Chantrelle Neilsen, principal product manager for Microsoft 365 Copilot at Microsoft, described the integration as a model for what specialized enterprise agents should look like inside Copilot.
Neilsen said: “Grounded in evidence, accountable to the domain, and available where the work happens,” characterizing the Causaly integration as making AI more useful without requiring users to switch between tools.
For biopharma customers, the combined effect is evidence-grounded scientific reasoning available across Microsoft surfaces their teams already rely on for daily productivity tasks.

Causaly is currently available on the Microsoft Marketplace, with the integration designed to support evidence-grounded research workflows across both Microsoft Discovery and Microsoft Copilot.
