Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.98 per share, marking an increase of seven cents, or 8%, over the prior quarter’s payment.
The dividend will be payable on December 10, 2026, to shareholders of record as of November 19, 2026, which also serves as the ex-dividend date.
The announcement was made by Microsoft’s board of directors on Tuesday, signaling continued confidence in the company’s financial position and cash generation capacity.
Beyond the dividend news, Microsoft also confirmed that its 2026 Annual Shareholders Meeting will be held on December 8, 2026, just two days before the dividend payment date.
Shareholders of record at the close of business on September 30, 2026 will be entitled to cast their votes at the upcoming meeting.
The annual meeting will once again be conducted in a fully virtual format, continuing a structure that allows broader shareholder participation from any location.
The virtual meeting will be hosted by Satya Nadella, chairman and chief executive officer, along with Amy Hood, executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Brad Smith, vice chair and president, and Sandra E. Peterson, Microsoft’s lead independent director, will also be among the hosts for the December event.
The 8% dividend increase reflects a pattern of steady capital returns that Microsoft has maintained for shareholders over successive quarters, reinforcing its reputation as a reliable income-generating stock.
Microsoft describes itself as a company focused on building platforms and tools powered by artificial intelligence, with a mission to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.
The company’s ongoing investment in AI-driven products and services has remained central to its growth strategy, as enterprise and consumer demand for intelligent technology solutions continues to expand globally.
Shares of MSFT were down 1.64% at the time of the announcement, though analysts broadly view consistent dividend growth as a positive signal for long-term institutional investors tracking the stock.
