Conservative commentator Candace Owens is demanding that Turning Point Action release concrete details from surveillance footage following the vandalism of a Charlie Kirk memorial statue in Phoenix, Arizona.
The eight-foot statue, unveiled outside Turning Point USA’s headquarters on September 10, was defaced just days after its installation, with red paint poured across the memorial including Kirk’s face and neck.
The unveiling marked exactly one year since Kirk was fatally shot during a Turning Point event at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.
A nearby tribute sign was also defaced during the same incident, prompting Phoenix police to respond to the scene and ask the public for any relevant information.
Turning Point Action COO Tyler Bowyer shared photographs of the damage on social media, describing those responsible as “radical criminals” and confirming the statue would be restored.
The organization said it was reviewing surveillance footage as part of its cooperation with law enforcement, a detail that drew a sharp and pointed response from Owens.
In a post on X, Owens wrote: “Has Turning Point shared any video or provided any details regarding a vehicle description of who drove up to their heavily-surveilled campus and threw paint? Was it a male or a female? One person or two?”
Owens continued: “All I’m seeing is them promoting Turning Point Action and blaming the Left. How about just provide some more basic information regarding what was captured on your cameras so people can try to help find the perpetrator?”
Her comments draw a clear distinction between political condemnation of the act and the release of practical investigative information that could assist authorities or members of the public.
Phoenix police have not publicly named or identified any suspect in connection with the vandalism, leaving surveillance footage and eyewitness accounts as the primary tools available to investigators.
Turning Point Action confirmed the damaged signs would be replaced and that the statue itself would be repaired, though no timeline has been given for when additional information from security cameras might be made available.
The vandalism has attracted significant attention given both the location and the timing, occurring within days of the first anniversary of Kirk’s death at a public campus event.
Whether Turning Point Action will respond to Owens’ request for more specific surveillance details, or whether law enforcement will publicly release suspect information, remains unclear as the investigation continues.
