GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV) is cementing its position as one of the clearest beneficiaries of surging global electricity demand driven by artificial intelligence infrastructure.

The company posted $24.2 billion in orders during the second quarter of 2026, representing 88% organic growth, while revenues climbed 22% to $11.1 billion.

Total backlog reached approximately $176 billion, a sequential increase of $13 billion, with the Power and Electrification segments leading the charge.

GEV’s Power segment alone generated $16.7 billion in orders during the quarter, marking a 134% organic increase as gas turbine demand accelerated sharply.

The company signed 20 gigawatts of new gas equipment contracts in the quarter, pushing total gas equipment backlog and slot reservation agreements from 100 gigawatts to 116 gigawatts.

Management has set a target of reaching at least 125 gigawatts in gas equipment commitments by the end of 2026, reflecting confidence in sustained industrial demand.

GEV is also expanding annual gas turbine production capacity toward 30 gigawatts by 2030 to keep pace with a demand environment that shows little sign of easing.

The Electrification segment reported $6.3 billion in orders, up 66% organically, with revenues rising 68% and equipment backlog climbing 69% year over year to reach $40.6 billion.

Data-center orders across the Electrification segment exceeded $5 billion in the first half of 2026 alone, more than doubling the company’s total figure for all of 2025.

AI data centers require vast quantities of reliable, around-the-clock electricity, and grid constraints are making additional generation capacity an increasingly scarce and valuable commodity.

Other companies are also positioned to capture value from this power investment cycle as utilities, grid operators and industrial users race to secure capacity.

Constellation Energy (NASDAQ: CEG) offers direct exposure to the generation side of rising U.S. electricity demand as AI data centers and broader electrification push power consumption higher.

Eaton Corporation (NYSE: ETN) benefits from rising demand for electrical equipment and power-management solutions, with growing exposure to data-center construction and constrained power infrastructure.

Eaton and Siemens Energy have even partnered on integrated power solutions specifically designed for data centers, underlining the scale of investment flowing into this space.

On the valuation front, GEV trades at a forward 12-month price-to-earnings ratio of 34.92 times, a notable premium to the industry average of 23.93 times.

The Zacks Consensus Estimate for GEV’s 2026 earnings per share points to growth of 73.09%, though the 2027 estimate implies a year-over-year decline of 21.29%.

GEV shares have risen 6.1% over the past six months, outperforming the broader industry, which has declined 15.3% over the same period.

The stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of 3, equivalent to a Hold rating, suggesting analysts see the current price as fairly reflective of near-term prospects despite strong operational momentum.
