Markets closed Thursday on a strong note after a brutal mid-week sell-off, with the Nasdaq leading gains and closing at 25,122, up 2.78% on the session.

Strong earnings from Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) and encouraging economic data fueled a broad buying surge that erased a significant portion of earlier losses across major indices.

In fixed income, the 30-year Treasury bond yield settled at 5.22%, while the benchmark 10-year note priced at a 4.67% yield, reflecting continued pressure on longer maturities.

Gold extended its winning streak to a second consecutive day, closing at $4,018, up 1.06%, with reports indicating that China and other central banks continue buying on every dip.

Silver also posted a strong session, finishing at $59.03, up 2.61%, as U.S. dollar weakness and moderating inflation added fuel to precious metals demand.

Crude oil declined despite ongoing Middle East tensions, with Brent Crude closing down 1.75% at $89.15 and West Texas Intermediate falling 0.72% to settle at $83.85.
