Novo Nordisk A/S (NYSE: NVO) has continued executing its share repurchase programme, completing a series of B share buyback transactions across the final week of July 2026.

The Danish pharmaceutical giant initiated the current repurchase programme on 6 May 2026, operating under Article 5 of Regulation No 596/2014 of the European Parliament and Council, alongside the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2016/1052, known as the Safe Harbour Rules.

The programme forms part of a broader repurchase effort totaling up to DKK 15 billion, set to run across a 12-month period beginning 4 February 2026.

Under the 6 May 2026 programme specifically, Novo Nordisk is authorized to repurchase B shares worth up to DKK 11,200,000,010.45 through to 1 February 2027.

Between 20 July and 24 July 2026, the company repurchased a combined 960,000 B shares across five trading sessions, adding to the 10,200,000 shares already accumulated at the time of the last announcement.

Daily transaction volumes were consistent, with 195,000 shares purchased on both 20 July at an average price of DKK 329.69 and 24 July at DKK 321.25, while 190,000 shares were bought on each of the three intervening days.

Average purchase prices declined modestly over the week, falling from DKK 329.69 on 20 July to DKK 313.46 on 23 July before recovering slightly to DKK 321.25 on 24 July.

The total accumulated under the programme now stands at 11,160,000 B shares, representing a combined transaction value of DKK 3,362,368,903.

As of 24 July 2026, Novo Nordisk has repurchased a total of 25,919,179 B shares since 4 February 2026, at an average price of DKK 276.33 per share, equating to a total transaction value of DKK 7,162,368,893.

Following these transactions, Novo Nordisk holds 43,104,480 B shares as treasury shares, valued at DKK 0.10 each, representing 1.0% of the company’s total share capital.

The company’s total share count, including treasury shares, stands at 4,465,000,000 A and B shares combined.
