A public brawl has erupted between conservative commentator Candace Owens and far-right activist Laura Loomer following an unexpected and widely discussed podcast interview between Owens and Hunter Biden.
The interview, which aired Thursday, drew immediate attention given Owens’ long history of harsh public attacks on the former president’s son.
The sit-down was notably warm in tone, with Biden repeatedly complimenting Owens while Owens expressed regret over some of her previous rhetoric directed at him, telling him “I’m sorry. I feel guilty.”
The conversation also touched on the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a subject that added further intrigue to an already unusual pairing.
Loomer responded publicly on Monday, posting a lengthy claim on X alleging that Owens was cozying up to the Biden family for strategic legal reasons rather than journalistic ones.
The basis of Loomer’s theory centres on a defamation lawsuit filed against Owens by French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron in Delaware Superior Court.
Macron initiated the lawsuit in the summer of 2025, citing an eight-episode YouTube series produced by Owens that repeatedly claimed Brigitte Macron was born a man, along with other conspiracy theories about the couple.
The 22-count complaint seeks both compensatory and punitive damages.
Loomer argued that the Delaware judge overseeing the case was appointed by former Governor John Carney Jr., a Democrat with ties to the Biden family, and suggested Owens was cultivating goodwill with the Bidens ahead of a motion-to-dismiss hearing scheduled for the following month.
Owens hit back sharply, calling Loomer a “rabid hyena” and accusing her of suffering from mental illness and a low IQ.
“Can someone with an IQ above 40 explain to this rabid hyena what a jurisdictional argument is in court,” Owens wrote on X, dismissing Loomer’s theory as legally illiterate.
The exchange quickly escalated into a broader public clash, drawing in supporters and critics of both figures from across the MAGA political orbit.
Both women have previously clashed publicly, and this episode represents one of their most heated confrontations to date.
