At $1,999, Apple’s (NASDAQ: AAPL) first foldable smartphone carries a price tag equivalent to just 0.025 Bitcoin at current market prices of $80,600 per coin.

That affordability calculus has caught the attention of Changpeng Zhao, the billionaire entrepreneur who believes crypto traders will be the device’s most enthusiastic adopters.

Zhao publicly shared a screenshot of the iPhone Duo displaying a BNB/USDT trading pair on the Binance exchange, declaring that the “Duo is pretty good for charting.”

His prediction goes further than casual endorsement, with Zhao forecasting that cryptocurrency traders will go “unhinged” over the new device’s capabilities.

The appeal lies primarily in the screen real estate, as the Duo’s interior panel measures 7.6 inches when fully opened, making it the largest display ever fitted into an iPhone.

Apple formally launched the iPhone Duo last week, marking the company’s entry into the foldable smartphone category after years of rivals competing in that space.

For crypto traders, managing positions typically demands simultaneous access to price charts, market news feeds, and cross-asset comparisons, needs that standard smartphones have historically struggled to meet.

The Duo’s expanded display cannot fully replicate the multi-monitor desktop setups that serious traders rely on, but Zhao’s point is that it fills a genuine gap for professionals who trade while traveling.

The 256GB base model carries that $1,999 U.S. price, positioning it firmly in premium territory alongside other high-end foldable devices currently on the market.

Whether Zhao’s prediction proves accurate will depend on how many in the crypto community are willing to spend the equivalent of a fraction of a single Bitcoin on a device built for trading on the go.
