Elon Musk demonstrated once again the extraordinary market power of a single word, offering a bullish counterpoint to the panic he sparked just one week earlier.

Seven days ago, Musk posted “Yikes” on X in response to a venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya post about rising yields on CoreWeave (NASDAQ: CRWV) bonds, sending neocloud stocks into a sharp decline.

That single word helped fuel a significant rout across the neocloud sector, hitting CoreWeave and Nebius (NASDAQ: NBIS) particularly hard as investors fled the space.

This time, Musk arrived on SpaceX’s (SPCX) earnings call late Tuesday with a far more encouraging message for investors watching the AI infrastructure trade.

Speaking directly to concerns about excess capacity in AI infrastructure, Musk called such fears “ridiculous,” arguing that demand fundamentals remain far too strong to justify that narrative.

“It is ridiculous. I do not think we are going to have a demand issue here. I am not saying this will happen, it is not impossible that we will have a six-month payback period for compute next year,” Musk said.

Markets responded quickly to the more optimistic tone, with CoreWeave shares gaining 2% in pre-market trading on Wednesday, Nebius up 2%, and IREN Limited (IREN) advancing 3%.

SpaceX itself delivered a strong third-quarter earnings report, posting revenue of $14.58 billion, a 161% increase from the prior year that comfortably beat analyst estimates of $12.7 billion.

Earnings per share came in at $0.35, exceeding analyst forecasts by $0.20, with the company’s Space, Connectivity, and Superintelligence businesses all reporting year-over-year revenue growth.

22V Research analyst Dauvin Peterson said the results pointed to durable demand extending well into the future, beyond what markets currently expect.

“I walked away feeling there is momentum at least through 2027 in terms of demand and that feels longer than the market’s current perception,” Peterson said.

Peterson added that the SpaceX call could mark an important turning point for neocloud sentiment broadly, with several key AI-related catalysts still ahead.

“Neoclouds will earn a position in this debate on both sides of the house,” Peterson said, noting that bullish pricing commentary and tighter-for-longer dynamics should benefit neoclouds building on Nvidia compute into 2027 and beyond.

The back-to-back episodes underline how significantly Musk’s public commentary can swing entire sectors, with investors now treating his words on AI infrastructure with the same weight as formal guidance.
