Arizona Republican Rep. Abraham Hamadeh announced Tuesday a personal $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of two suspects in an alleged sexual assault case.

The alleged victim is Bernadette Greene-Placentia, Hamadeh’s Democratic challenger, who reported being attacked in August in Sun City, a suburb of Phoenix.

Greene-Placentia said the incident occurred on Aug. 14, during the predawn hours, while she was fixing a campaign sign along a local road.

According to a report filed with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and obtained by local media, she was knocked unconscious by two men and then sexually assaulted.

Hamadeh, who is seeking reelection against Greene-Placentia, stated that the reward applies specifically to information leading to the arrest and convictions of the two individuals suspected in the attack.

The congressman, a former prosecutor, framed the offer around his professional background and his commitment to survivors of violent crime.

“Nothing is more important to me than the safety and security of my constituents,” Hamadeh said in a statement released Tuesday alongside the reward announcement.

“As a former prosecutor who has fought for survivors of sexual assault, I am offering a reward for information leading to the capture and arrest of the two individuals responsible for this crime,” he continued.

Hamadeh also addressed the severity of the offense directly, stating that “sexual assault is a serious violent offense” and that “survivors deserve justice.”

“Those who commit these acts must be held accountable,” he added, underscoring his broader position on supporting victims and pursuing perpetrators through the justice system.

The announcement draws attention to an unusual and troubling dimension of the Arizona congressional race, where a candidate’s alleged victimization has become part of the political backdrop heading into November.

No arrests have been publicly reported in connection with the Aug. 14 incident, and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office investigation is ongoing.
