D-Wave Quantum Inc. (NASDAQ: QBTS), the only dual-platform quantum computing company offering both annealing and gate-model systems, has appointed veteran financial technology executive Bernard Gavgani to its Board of Directors and Cybersecurity Committee.
Gavgani currently serves as Senior Advisor for Technology and Innovation to BNP Paribas Group Executive Management, bringing decades of experience from one of the world’s largest financial institutions.
He previously held the role of Group Chief Information Officer at BNP Paribas, overseeing global technology strategy across a highly regulated and complex multinational enterprise.
Before becoming Group CIO, Gavgani served as chief operating officer for information technology and operations within BNP Paribas corporate and institutional banking.
Earlier roles at BNP Paribas spanned capital markets, equity derivatives, technology, operations, and the bank’s general inspection function, giving him broad cross-functional enterprise experience.
Gavgani joins D-Wave’s Board in a personal capacity, contributing expertise in cybersecurity, AI governance, operational transformation, and workplace and network modernization.
