Angelo Zino, senior vice president at CFRA Research, says incoming Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) CEO John Ternus is the right leader to carry the company into its next era of growth.
Ternus was spotted welcoming Apple fans outside a store, marking one of his first visible moments as the public face of the world’s most valuable technology company.
Zino described Ternus as someone who has spent more than two decades inside Apple, working under both Steve Jobs and Tim Cook during that time.
“He’s got the DNA, the Apple DNA,” Zino said, adding that Ternus brings all the right tools to lead the company through what he sees as a pivotal period.
The iPhone 18 Pro has already launched, and Apple has also unveiled the foldable iPhone Duo, signaling a bold new direction for its flagship product line under Ternus’s leadership.
Zino pointed to the iPhone 17 cycle as the starting point for what he expects to be a multi-year, strong upgrade cycle on the smartphone side of Apple’s business.
Looking further ahead, Zino highlighted that Apple’s product pipeline through 2027 and 2028 holds significant promise across a range of hardware categories beyond the iPhone.
Wearables, AirPods, and smart glasses are among the product areas Zino cited as reasons for optimism among Apple consumers in the coming years.
Ternus’s deep expertise on the hardware side of the business is seen as a particular strength, positioning him well to oversee that anticipated wave of new product launches.
“I do think Ternus with his strength on the hardware side of things, he’s absolutely the right guy to kind of get you to that next level for Apple,” Zino said.
Analysts and investors will be watching closely to see whether Ternus can maintain the company’s momentum while steering Apple through an increasingly competitive global technology landscape.
Apple shares edged slightly lower on the day, falling 0.26 percent, though broader sentiment around the company’s long-term outlook remains constructive among Wall Street observers.
