A woman was stopped by private security after illegally entering the Los Angeles property of former Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff late at night.
The intrusion occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m., when the individual made her way onto the grounds before being intercepted by security personnel prior to reaching the residence.
Spokesperson Eduardo Negrón confirmed the incident in a statement, saying “security personnel stopped an individual who illegally entered Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman Emhoff’s property before the individual reached the home.”
Negrón confirmed that neither Harris nor Emhoff were present at the time of the incident, and that the couple expressed relief over the swift response from those on the ground.
“They are grateful to the security and law enforcement personnel who responded swiftly,” Negrón said, offering no further detail about the couple’s whereabouts at the time.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that deputies responded to a suspicious person call for service at the location after the initial alert was raised.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the private security detail already on the property, who had contained the situation before law enforcement reached the scene.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, “the individual who was outside of the property upon our arrival was warned and advised by deputies to leave the premises and left voluntarily without incident.”
Police filed a trespassing report following the incident, but no arrests were made and authorities did not publicly identify the woman involved.
As a precautionary measure, Sheriff’s Malibu Lost Hills Deputies announced they would increase patrols in the surrounding area following the security breach.
The incident comes amid ongoing questions about Harris’ personal security arrangements after President Trump revoked her Secret Service protection following the conclusion of her term.
Harris had initially received six months of Secret Service coverage after the Biden administration ended, with a directive from former President Biden intended to extend that protection by an additional year.
The California Highway Patrol had previously offered to provide Harris with protection, though officials declined to share details about the specifics of that arrangement at the time it was announced.
