NuScale Power Corporation (NYSE: SMR) has announced a major deployment of nuclear-specific artificial intelligence tools designed to accelerate its small modular reactor development program.

The initiative brings together NuScale’s advanced reactor expertise, Nuclearn’s AtomAssist nuclear AI platform, and NPX’s nuclear project and AI implementation experience to create purpose-built tools for engineering and knowledge management.

An initial proof of concept demonstrated that nuclear-specific AI terminology and workflows could reduce the time required to find relevant information by as much as 80%.

The technology is designed to surface the most relevant engineering methods and standards while maintaining full traceability to original controlled source documents.

As advanced reactor projects move from design into deployment, timely and informed decision-making across growing volumes of engineering data, licensing evidence, and technical standards becomes critical to maintaining program schedules.
