Former Vice President Kamala Harris drew widespread ridicule after delivering a motivational speech to the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks over the weekend.

Harris told the Sparks they were making an “incredible impact” on the country, drawing criticism for her circuitous delivery and her transition from presidential nominee to team motivator.

“I travel our country. Young girls, boys, people of every gender background, race, watch the ‘W’, and understand how inspiring it is,” Harris said to the team.

She continued, urging the players to keep going, saying they were “impacting people who you may never meet” and those who “may never know your names or mine but they are aware of what you are.”

Harris added that the team’s work was “giving them a sense of their value, their dignity, and what they have a right to expect from this world.”

She closed her remarks by congratulating the Sparks not just on their game but on “the path you guys are charting,” calling it “extraordinary to watch.”

Outkick founder Clay Travis was unimpressed, saying Harris made “zero sense” and noting that the league has “still never had a team visit the White House with Trump in office.”

Former University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines appeared on Fox News and drew a contrast with the reception FBI Director Kash Patel received after firing up the U.S. Olympic Men’s Hockey Team in February following its upset victory over Canada.

Gaines said she had not yet seen Harris’ clip but recalled the criticism directed at Patel for his appearance in the men’s locker room while serving as the FBI chief.

“Was there any outrage like there was when Kash Patel was in the men’s locker room after the Olympic team won a gold medal at the Olympics? No, I don’t think so,” Gaines said.

Critics on social media were equally dismissive, with one user describing Harris’ remarks as “delusional word salad nonsense,” echoing prior complaints about her public speaking style.

“I still thank God every single day that this woman lost the election,” wrote one user identified as One Bad Dude.

Another commenter wrote, “She’s like a party clown at this point,” while a third quipped, “Total mystery how this person lost every swing state.”

The appearance came as Harris continues to find her footing in public life following her defeat in the 2024 presidential election, with supporters and detractors closely watching her every move.
