SunPower Inc.’s subsidiary, Cobalt Power Systems, has completed a solar and energy storage project at Santa Clara University, marking a significant step in the commercial renewable energy sector.
The installation spans multiple sites across the university campus, including parking structures and rooftops, delivering a total capacity of 1.2 megawatts.
The system is capable of generating over 2.1 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually, representing a substantial source of on-site renewable power for the institution.
The project also incorporates future-ready infrastructure, including provisions for electric vehicle charging stations, positioning the university for further sustainability upgrades.
The deployment is expected to result in meaningful energy cost savings for Santa Clara University while highlighting growing demand in the commercial solar market.
