George Tzortzis is a neophyte freelancer living in Athens and writing about the human side of the Greek economic crisis. Previously, George lived in Washington, DC working as a spreadsheet jockey at the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Having earned a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in international relations and economics, and then having spent three years in the public sector, George decided to make a total break with an unsatisfying career track to get in touch with his roots during a defining moment in Greece’s history.
