What is missing, however, are any specific suggestions regarding what actions we as American citizens should be undertaking to attempt to restore our constitution and the proper rule of law. Shall we try sending more letters to the editors of newspapers? Blogging more on websites? Phoning and writing to our representatives in Congress? Emailing the Office of the President? Joining local progressive Democratic Party Clubs to try to ask that Democratic Party leaders act more like an opposition party? Vocally opining to politicians and pollsters that those blatantly committing provable war crimes in the name of the United States be held accountable? Joining both large and small scale candlelight protests held in front of government buildings? Contributing large sums of money to political organizations that lobby and bring law suits to have various parts of the usurped constitution enforced? Ridiculously dressing up like an Eighteenth Century colonialist patriot in a tricorn hat holding up a 4 by 6 foot yellow sign patterned after the coiled rattlesnake "Gadsen flag" but modified to say "Don't Spy on Me," just to try to draw a little more attention of the motorists passing by some busy intersections? Well, already tried those. In fact, it is my understanding that hundreds of thousands of other Americans like me have also done those same kinds of things for several years without achieving any appreciable result. So what do you suggest?Let me attempt to explain one particularly difficult and painful thing that I reluctantly have concluded we must start doing. It is hoped that the following story will serve as a useful illustration:Title: "Losing Our Constitution Where the Light of Liberty Doesn't Shine: (A Parable)"Late one night while trudging down a long, difficult road, a certain traveler (let's call him "Jason") lost his priceless Golden Fleece and went to a friend seeking help to find it. Jason brought along his friend to a location on the road fortuitously well illuminated by a street light where they both searched a very long time for the missing Golden Fleece. Finally, after looking such very long time without any success, the friend asked Jason if it was possible that the Golden Fleece could have been lost somewhere else."It is possible," admitted Jason, "since the last place I remember still having it was right before I took a short cut through the very dark alley where the pickpockets like to hang out."Alarmed at this distressing answer, the friend asked why they were spending so much time and energy looking in this particular place if the Golden Fleece was last seen somewhere else, but Jason indignantly explained, "Well, because the light is so much better here!!"In similar fashion, have not the leaders of the Democratic Party, nominally the opposition to the Republican Party which has primarily been the driving force been asking us to keep looking for our missing rule of law and lost Constitution by looking only in the bright light of each next election? They have done this even while achieving a majority in Congress, where they have not since sought to fix major identified problems concerning things such as untrustworthy vote counting practices, hackable and non-verifiable electronic election machines, campaign financing practices virtually indistinguishable from legalized bribery, unreasonable gerrymandering abuses, vastly unfair imbalances of power providing grossly unfair representational and electoral college advantages to small, sparsely populated states (e.g., California has 68 times greater population than Wyoming but each have the same number of U.S. Senators), and many election related legal violations that are never brought to court for seeking judicial remedies and remain unaddressed by the proper rule of law, etc.Moral: It is a folly to trust someone who asks you to look for something that has been lost, by searching only in the easiest locations. They need to be willing to search every possible place where the missing thing could be found and even be willing to risk going back to the dark places where it was last seen. If you agree to help them look for it, you must insist they first must explain to you the true nature of the situation. Otherwise, you must let them understand in no uncertain terms that they will risk losing not only the lost thing itself, but your continued friendship as well.

Thank you for your very thought provoking article.
