I have several Bahai friends who had to leave Iran due to intense persecution as he says. We must "clean house", as well, and understand, once and for all, if we really want a better world we teach by example, not by force.

I agree with Davit here. No! The " love, sacrifice, dignity, and justice" Ahmadinejad talks about is quite different than what most in non Islamic world think of. His is conditional based on an adherence to monotheism(read the Quran and a Hadith source to see why.) Look no further to what his regime(essentially the Supreme Leader) is willing to do to impose their theocracy on the people the protest crack down being a good example. Try asking Bahai what it is like to live in Iran or the tens of thousands of political prisoners put to death because the did not agree with the regime. Least of all let's not forget once the revolution was over the regime essentially liquidated the pro secular left who supported the revolution because they were deemed against God. Today this regime supports people like Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Mesbah-Yazdi who said "It doesn't matter what the people think. The people are ignorant sheep."[Molavi, Afshin The Soul of Iran Norton, (2005), p.105 ] Yazdi also does not believe in elections and guess what he is Ahmandinejad's spiritual advisor. America's corporate greed, involvement in Iraq ,and foreign policy is so clearly wrong on many levels but should it be used as evidence to explain away someone elses transgressions? Personally I think it is warranted to call this dictator out based soley on what he does to his own people. Obviously we would be on much better footing if we cleaned our own house out before hand and the author is wise to point this out.

The author is correct is pointing out the blatant double standard and hypocrisy of the West, but it begs the questions does another wrong make another wrong valid.
